Mission: "The mission of JROTC is to motivate young people to be better citizens."

The JROTC program is not about preparing students for the military. Although students learn military customs and courtesies, and participate in military related competitions, the overall purpose of the program is to develop character and leadership abilities. The program teaches students to maximize their potential for success through learning and self-management; to develop their leadership skills; to incorporate principles of mental and physical wellness into behaviors and decisions; to build effective relationships with peers, co-workers, and the community; and to correlate the rights and responsibilities of citizenship to the purpose of the United States government. The program also provides countless oppurtunities for students to be involved in community services and service learning projects.
